Rain Poncho For Costa Rica

If you are going to Costa Rica you are probably going to want to be spending some time in the rain forests. As you might expect, it does rain frequently. One of the things you are going to want to cary with you will be some type of rain gear. Some people choose to carry a regular rain jacket. Others bring a poncho. I would recomend a light, reusable poncho that can be easily carried everywhere you go and that will be ready when you need it. You will want something that you can fold up that will only take a little bit of space.

Another thing to consider is the heat. It isn't going to be cool there. You will want something that won't trap the heat in. You don't want something that causes you to sweat so much that you get more wet with your rain gear than without. Get something that is light, breathable, and loose.

Other Stuff

Foot Wear

You are going to want to bring either hiking shoes or hiking boots. You will want good support and good treads. This is a good idea whether or not you are getting off the beaten path. It is also recommended to bring a pair of high rubber boots, especially during the rainy season.

Bug Spray

Another thing you are going to want to have on you is bug spray. Definitly pack some if you can. Anytime you are going to be spending time in a jungle or rain forest, always bring bug spray. The bugs are crazy. If you are planning aheady and have the option to pack some, do so
